“Let Those Fingers Fly” Released For Worldwide Radio Play By The Vestal Brothers | May 29, 2024

Nashville Tennessee (May 28, 2024) - The world is in for quite a treat with an album from a musical duo like the Vestal Brothers. Namely, Scott and Curtis. Their lead single is available worldwide to radio for airplay today. “Let Those Fingers Fly,” an original penned by Curtis, is garnished with a little ‘Sugar Foot Rag’ from writers, Hank Garland and Vaughn Norton.

This song exemplifies a rolling Summer anthem for any music fan that can beckon the nostalgia of growing up around porch picking and singing, being raised in musical families and gaining an appreciation for that life. Anyone who listens will walk away happier for having heard it, and look forward to the next spin.

“‘Let Those Fingers Fly’ is a song written in a reflective mindset thinking back to the days Scott and I would head to Oklahoma to stay with our grandparents for the weekend or off to a festival with grandma and grandpa, Famon Self. He was a fiddle player in a country western band and they played local rodeos, nursing homes, and special events local to the community there in Duncan, Oklahoma. I remember seeing him on a tractor-trailer stage in the parking lot at the mall, and he’d get us up to play with them. Good times! We hope this song can conjure up great memories of days gone by for other folks that hear it as well!" -Curtis Vestal

CURTIS VESTAL: LEAD VOCAL, BASS
SCOTT VESTAL: BANJO
TIM CROUCH: FIDDLE
CODY KILBY: GUITAR, MANDOLIN
RANDY KOHRS: RESO GUITAR, HARMONY

“Let Those Fingers Fly,” marks the lead single for a forthcoming album, FAMILY TIES, on True Lonesome Records, expected later this year. The collection will include members of the Vestal family with the core focus on brothers, Scott and Curtis.

The new single is available today on Airplay Direct or radio programmers can request a wav file for download from the label team.

Scott Vestal and Curtis Vestal were born in Duncan, Oklahoma into a musical family, relocating to Texas at age 3 (Scott) and age 1 (Curtis). Their Grandfather Famon Self was a country fiddler. Scott and his brother Curtis played and sang with their grandfather at bluegrass festivals and other events.

The Vestal brothers, along with Russell Moore, later formed the band Southern Connection, which toured the Midwest and East Coast for 3 years. In 1985, Scott Vestal, Curtis Vestal, and Russell Moore joined Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. Curtis exited the band in 1986, taking a hiatus from music to pursue other interests and focus on family, while Scott stayed with Quicksilver for four years and five albums.

Since then, Curtis re-entered the music scene, moving to the Nashville area in the fall of 2018. He has recorded with industry greats such as Tina Adair, Dale Ann Bradley, Alan Bibey, Clay Hess, Wayne Benson, and many more. Scott continued throughout with his career in music, adding recording engineer to his impressive resume. Scott partnered with David Parmley and Harley Allen early on, which later became Continental Divide, and he has played with many bands since including The John Cowan Band, Sam Bush Band, and many others. When he is not on the road he is behind the controls at his Digital Underground Studio, located outside the Nashville city limits, recording projects for some of the biggest names in Bluegrass and Americana music. Audio engineering is a passion that Scott has been involved in throughout his career.
